One will observe the strong use of line in the works as it moves from the drawing process to painting. This process is often deliberately repeated over and over in layers of the work and sets this work apart from all others.

Born in England, Mr. Houlton has been a Canadian citizen for fifty years, enjoying and developing his unique painting style with work in collections across Canada. His work can best be described as a romantic expressionism in nature and colour. The objective being to create a still life of plants and flowers that draws the eye and alerts the senses. David's paintings literally glow from within creating a warm colourful atmosphere in which the viewer can discover many different aspects of both painting and drawing.
