What I do

Working in oils, my paintings are trademarked with exuberance, enthusiasm, emotion and energy. During the painting process I am often transported back to the scene I am describing. That is when I know the painting works. I tend to favour the action, freedom and rough edges of the autumn or winter.

My objective is the viewer should look, smile, remember or imagine and then look again.

About Me

First, the basics, I am a 56 year old newcomer (3rd year) living in East York with my wife, son and pet Corgi – Gibson(named after Gibson guitar fame). All family members, including myself have a strong artistic or creative sense-even the dog.

Only since late 2003 have I become passionate about my art. Surprisingly this zeal was kick started during a seminar on how to operate a consulting business. During the self-evaluation sessions the course leader continually asked when we were going to embrace the challenge of our individual dreams

“If not now, when?” (I hold an engineering degree and over 30 years have worked a varied career from Piping Design to Construction to Manufacturing Plant Manager to Consultant and finally Fine Artist.. Its tough to decide what you want to be when you grow up!

To date highlights include exhibiting at the McMichael Gallery in Kleinburg (twice), a 6 week show at the Algonquin Park Visitor Centre Gallery, participation in the Calgary Stampede Showcase Art Auction and the Toronto Art Expo.

My work is now also available through 7 galleries.

I am also an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Artists network of Riverdale
